These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Sounds About Right, operated at soundsaboutright.games. By accessing or using the service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Sounds About Right is a browser-based multiplayer party game where participants compete by selecting songs from the Apple Music / iTunes catalog that best match a given prompt. Game prompts are either host-authored or AI-generated using Google Gemini. One participant acts as the “Game Master” (host) who creates and controls the session; other participants join via a room code.
The service includes a free tier (Vibe Check mode) and a paid Expansion Pack ($9.99 USD, one-time) that unlocks additional game modes (Aux Battle, Genre Lock) and custom prompt creation.
You must be at least 13 years of age to use this service. By creating an account or participating in a game, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
An account is required to purchase the Expansion Pack and to host certain game modes. You may participate in games as a guest (no account required). When registering you agree to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Upon successful payment, Expansion Pack access is granted to your account immediately. If you encounter a technical issue where access is not granted after a confirmed payment, contact us within 14 days and we will resolve it promptly.

We reserve the right to remove any content and to suspend accounts that violate these standards without prior notice.
Sounds About Right uses the Apple iTunes Search API to surface song metadata and 30-second audio previews. All music content — including track names, artist names, album artwork, and audio previews — remains the intellectual property of the respective rights holders and Apple Inc. We do not host, download, or permanently store any audio files.
Your use of music content through this service is subject to Apple's Terms of Service. We make no warranties regarding the availability, accuracy, or completeness of music catalog data.
Game prompts labeled as “AI-generated” are pre-generated using Google Gemini and curated before being made available in the game. No personal data, usernames, or real-time game content is used in their creation. AI-generated prompts are for entertainment purposes only and may occasionally produce unexpected results. We are not responsible for the content of AI-generated prompts beyond the content filters we apply.
The Sounds About Right name, logo, game design, code, and visual assets are our exclusive property. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for personal, non-commercial entertainment purposes.
Custom prompts you create remain your own content. By submitting them into a game session, you grant us a limited license to display and use them solely for operating that session.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT GAME DATA WILL BE PERMANENTLY RETAINED.
Game sessions are ephemeral by design. We make no guarantee of data persistence beyond the duration of an active session.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
We may modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the service.
