Expansion Pack Refund Policy

The Expansion Pack is a $9.99 USD one-time purchase that unlocks Aux Battle, Genre Lock, and custom prompt creation on your account permanently.

Eligible for Refund

  • Request within 7 days of purchase
  • Expansion Pack was not used in any game session
  • Technical failure where access was not granted despite successful payment
  • Duplicate charge due to a billing error

Not Eligible

  • Change of mind after using the Expansion Pack features
  • Request submitted more than 7 days after purchase
  • Account suspended for Terms of Service violations
  • Misunderstanding of what the Expansion Pack includes

To request a refund, email derkwho@gmail.com with the subject line “Expansion Pack Refund Request”. Include your account email and your Stripe receipt number (found in your payment confirmation email). Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days back to your original payment method.

Technical Support

Having trouble with the game? Here are answers to common issues before you reach out:

QExpansion Pack not showing as unlocked after payment
A

Return to the game mode selection screen (soundsaboutright.games/host/mode). The page will automatically verify your purchase and unlock features. If it still shows locked after a short wait, email us with your account email and Stripe receipt.

QCan't join a game — room code not working
A

Room codes are 4 characters and case-insensitive. Confirm the host has started a lobby (not just created one). Codes expire when the host closes the session.

QMusic search not returning results
A

We use the Apple iTunes API for music search. Try more specific search terms (artist name + song title). If the issue persists across multiple searches, the API may be temporarily unavailable — try again in a few minutes.

QGame froze or stopped updating in real time
A

Refresh your browser tab. Game state is synced in real time and a refresh will reconnect you to the current state. If you were the host, your game is still live for players until you end it or close the browser.

QForgot password / can't sign in
A

On the sign-in page, click "Forgot password?" and enter your account email. You will receive a reset link within a few minutes. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive.

If your issue is not listed above, email derkwho@gmail.com with:

  • A description of the issue and the steps to reproduce it
  • Your browser and operating system (e.g., Chrome on macOS)
  • Your account email (if applicable)
  • Any error messages you saw

Account Management

Password Reset

Visit soundsaboutright.games/auth and use the “Forgot password?” option to receive a reset link at your registered email address.

Account Deletion

To request permanent deletion of your account and all associated personal data, email derkwho@gmail.com from your registered email address with the subject line “Account Deletion Request”. We will process the deletion within 10 business days and confirm via email. Note: deletion removes all game history and cannot be undone.

Changing Your Email

Account email changes are handled via email support. Send a request from your current registered address to derkwho@gmail.com.

Billing & Payment Issues

All payments are processed by Stripe. If you see an unexpected charge from Sounds About Right on your statement:

  • Before filing a chargeback: Please contact us first at derkwho@gmail.com. We can resolve most billing issues quickly and chargebacks can take weeks to process.
  • Unrecognized charge:The charge will appear as “Sounds About Right” or “Stripe” on your statement. We only charge for the Expansion Pack ($9.99 USD).
  • Duplicate charge: If you were charged more than once for the Expansion Pack, email us with your Stripe receipts and we will issue a refund for the duplicate within 5 business days.

We welcome feedback. If you have ideas for new game modes, prompt themes, or improvements to the experience, email us at derkwho@gmail.com with the subject line “Feedback”. We read every message even if we can't reply to all of them.
