How To Play

Six rounds. Infinite arguments. One undisputed champion of taste.

Sounds About Right is a party music game for 3–12 players. Pick songs that match absurd prompts, listen to everyone’s picks, vote for your favourite, and crown the player with the sharpest taste — or at least the most convincing one.

Host a Game

One person creates a room and gets a 4-letter code. Share it in the group chat, throw it on the TV, or shout it across the room. Up to 12 players can join from any phone or laptop — no app needed.

Join & Customize Your Avatar

Players visit the site, enter the room code, and build their character. Pick an instrument body, a colour, an emote, and optional accessories like glasses or a mustache. Your custom avatar shows up on everyone’s screen throughout the game.

Answer the Prompt

A Vibe Check promptdrops — something like “What song perfectly describes a Monday morning?” or “The anthem of someone who just got dumped.” Search the full Apple Music catalog and find the track that fits best before the timer runs out.

Vote for the Best

All submissions are revealed anonymously— no names attached. Every player previews each song and casts a single vote for their favourite. You can’t vote for yourself, so convince the room with your pick.

Crown the Winner

Votes are tallied and the round winner is crowned. Points accumulate across every round — the player with the most points when the game ends wins the whole show. Play again immediately or end on a high note.
